Training videos in Badgie: video courses, assigning them to students and progress

Quick answer

Training Videos lets you build courses with videos (uploaded or from YouTube), PDFs and images and assign them to classes, students or Smart Tags. Students watch them in the Badgie app and the club tracks on the Progress tab which videos each one has completed.

Where to find it

  • Web: menu Academy → Training Videos (/dashboard/training-videos).
  • Student app: their assigned courses, to watch on their phone.
  • Coach app: the Training videos section, where coaches can also share them.

Create a course and add content

  1. Click New course and enter the title, introduction and objectives.
  2. In the course, click Add content: upload videos or link YouTube, PDFs or images.
  3. Drag episodes to reorder them and leave each one as Published or Draft.
  4. Tag videos with Add tag to find them later.

The list on the left splits courses into All, Active and Archived.

AI summary for each video

For videos uploaded to the club, the wand button (AI Summary) opens the episode card and Generate AI summary analyses the video and writes a technical summary you can edit. For YouTube links, PDFs or images you write the description yourself.

Assign the course

Click Assign and choose Classes, Students or By Smart Tags (every student with any of those tags). Also:

  • Visible to the whole club: the course appears to every student without assigning it.
  • Assign to new sign-ups: every student who joins gets it automatically.

Track progress

The Progress tab shows one row per student and one column per video, with the total completed (for example 2/4).

What the student or family sees

Assigned courses appear in the Badgie app with their videos; watching them updates their progress. Coaches can also open and share them from their app.

By sport

Swimming: technique per stroke and turns. Golf or tennis: stroke technique. Martial arts: katas and the syllabus for each belt. Skiing: progression by level. Football: game principles for each age group.

With the AI agent

The agent has no tools of its own for training videos: use the Training Videos screen to create, assign and track courses.
