Quick answer
In ACADEMY › Championships you create a championship (for example "Season Opener Trophy"), give it a season with dates, enrol students and split the season into rounds. Every time you send a badge with points the Ranking updates instantly; at the end you award the trophies (Champion, Runner-up…) and share the standings with families.
In this guide
Where to find it
- Sidebar: ACADEMY › Championships (/dashboard/tournaments). The page is called Championships Management Hub.
- Tabs: championships list, badges awarded (history) and badge creator (tournament badges and trophies). Schools with the match competitions module also see a Competitions tab (groups and bracket).
- Inside each championship: Tournament (Ranking and Badges sent) and Management (Season & students, Enrolled students, Teams, Tournament badges & trophies, General settings).
1. Create the championship
2. Season, students and rounds
- In Management › Season & students click Create a New Season (seasons can be cloned) and pick dates on the yearly calendar.
- Enrol students in Enrolled students (with a Smart Tags filter) and, for team play, create Teams.
- Under Rounds click Add round (for example "50 m heats" and "Finals and relays"). You can Count the best N rounds and give a Bonus per round played; points without a round always count.
3. Add points: Send Badge + Points
4. The ranking
In Tournament › Ranking you see Points by round: one column per round plus the Total. From there you can Download PDF (individual and teams) and Share ranking, which creates a short public link (badgie.com/t/…) with abbreviated names, designed for WhatsApp. The link only exists while the season is active and has enrolled students.
5. Tiebreakers and settings
In Management › General settings you edit name and description, turn attendance rewards on or off and choose the Tiebreaker: Shared position (default) shows tied students with the same place ("1="), best round breaks ties by the best scored round, and manual lets the club set the order ("Order ties" button in the ranking). Manual order only decides among tied students: it never puts someone ahead of a player with more points.
6. Final trophies
What the family sees
- Every badge sent reaches the family with its link; the clicks column shows whether it was opened.
- In the Badgie app, Trophies › Championships lists the student's championships.
- With Share ranking, the public standings on a phone, no login needed.
By sport
- Swimming and athletics: rounds per event (heats, finals, relays) and points per place or time.
- Padel, tennis and pickleball: internal leagues by round; schools with Competitions run matches with groups and a bracket.
- Football and team sports: team trophies (every member of the winning team gets the badge).
- Martial arts and kids' schools: automatic attendance rewards to encourage consistency.
With the AI agent
The agent reads championships with list_tournaments, seasons with list_tournament_seasons, entries with list_tournament_enrollments, teams with list_tournament_teams and winners with list_tournament_winners. get_tournament_public_link gives you the public standings link to send by WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between championship and season?
The championship is the competition (name, sport, badges); the season is the period with dates, students and rounds. A championship can repeat across several seasons.
Can I drop the worst round?
Yes: under Rounds use Count the best N rounds.
Why can't I share the ranking?
The public link is only generated when the season is active and has enrolled students; otherwise you see "The season is not active yet".
