Smart Tags: labels to segment your students

Quick answer

Badgie Smart Tags are digital labels with a name and colour that you put on students to group them however you like: licensed players, competition team, allergies, siblings, new this season. A student can have several, and each tag is then used to filter, send a message, award badges or assign a course to just that group.

Where to find it

  • Web: menu Community → Smart Tags (/dashboard/smart-tags). Also on each student's profile and in the student list filters.
  • Coach app: coaches see their students' tags and can filter by them when sharing photos and videos.
  • AI agent: tags students and lists the club's tags.

The Smart Tags screen

At the top you see how many groups there are, how many students are tagged and the average per group, with the Create smart tag and Download Excel buttons. Each card is a tag with its number of students, the list of who has it and a Message button to write to them.

Name and colour: nothing else is needed.

Creating it from a filter

In Community → Students, filter the list (by class, fee, season…) and click Create Smart Tag: the tag is created with all the filtered students already in it.

Assigning and removing tags

  • On the student profile, in the Smart Tags block, add or remove tags.
  • In the student list, select several students and tag them at once.
  • Ask the AI agent: «add the Competition team tag to these eight students».

What they are for

  • Filtering the student list and the badge matrix by tag.
  • Communicating: each card's Message button opens a send with that group already loaded, and when choosing recipients in Communications you can add by Smart Tag.
  • Awarding badges to just the group from the badge matrix.
  • Assigning video courses to every student who has one or more tags.
  • Exporting each group to Excel.

What the family sees

Smart Tags are an internal club tool: families do not see the tags, they only receive the messages, badges or courses the club sends through them.

By sport

  • Swimming: «Medical attention (allergies)», «Licensed», «Technical support».
  • Football: goalkeepers, selectable players, injured.
  • Golf, tennis and padel: competition group, handicap or level, tournament players.
  • Skiing and camps: camp week, level group.

With the AI agent

  • «Which Smart Tags do we have and how many students are in each?»
  • «Tag the students of Advanced A as Licensed».
  • «Send a WhatsApp to the Competition team tag with Saturday's schedule» (it prepares it and you confirm the send).

Frequently asked questions

Do Smart Tags use NFC or QR codes?

No. They are digital labels inside Badgie; there is no hardware and nothing to scan.

Can a student have several Smart Tags?

Yes, as many as you need. The category, on the other hand, is one per student.

Do tags update themselves?

No: a tag keeps the students you assign to it. If you create it from a filter, it takes the students who matched the filter at that moment.

Do families see them?

No. Only the club, its coaches and collaborators.
